A study of the self-coupling magnetic resonance coupled wireless power transfer

It is shown that the efficiency and usable frequency for the industrial, scientific, and medical (ISM) is significant in magnetic resonance coupled (MRC) wireless power transfer (WPT). A self-coupling MRC WPT system is proposed in this paper. It combines the source coil and transmitting coil or receiving coil and load coil as a self-coupling coil.

There mainly are three kind power transfer ways, conductive coupling, inductive coupling and magnetic resonance coupling where, the conductive coupling being the self-coupling coil’s inertial will not affect the magnetic resonance coupling works like as traditional four coils configuration. The mutual inductance equivalent circuit model is constructed also. Through the equivalent circuit model and experimental measure, the proposed WPT can achieve higher efficiency.
